Doggies, torties & sometimes, butterflies

I did not.

Standard

I did not feed my tortoise till it’s as huge as my palm just so that it could be big enough to climb over it’s container and run away.

I did not put a netting over its container just so that it could try and bite through it and let itself out and run away.

I did not place my dog next to my tortoise’s container just so that it could sit and watch my tortoise run away.

I fed my tortoise till it’s as huge as my palm just so that it could grow even bigger and that I could one day put them in a landscaped pond that I’m about to build for them.

I put a netting over its container just so that it could not try and climb out of it and run away and never come back.

I placed my dog next to my tortoise’s container just so that it could *hopefully* guard my tortoise for me and not let it even attempt to climb out of its container.

Maybe I should get a beagle instead.
Maybe it could help me sniff and locate Loti.

Loti’s probably swimming away in the monsoon drain somewhere out there, just like how the zoo animals in Madagascar ran away to THE WILD.

The Butterfly Flies

Standard

I was so torn. Torn between wanting to let them go and wanting to keep them by my side forever.

They were so pretty and I don’t even know them as butterflies yet. I opened the net slowly, one of the common mormon crawled to the top. Without a warning, it spread its wings, took flight and flew into the sunset. I watched it flutter, I watched it twirl from fence to fence, until I couldn’t see it anymore. It never flew back. I wanted to cry. But then I thought, that’s just how butterfly’s suppose to be.

They grow wings; and with those wings, they gain freedom; and with freedom, they go wherever they want to.

…to this!!

She was shaking so vigorously while entering the pupal stage that she literally shook her head off!

Meanwhile, a frisky little caterpillar, Catie was busy searching for a nice spot to pupate and gotten just a little bit too chummy with Chrysiella.

Chrysiella didn’t like it one bit!

Watch the video to see how Chrysiella reacted to Catie’s advances!
